I'd be happy if they just put it on PBS again, because I never got to see it the first time around. I read the book some time ago, and even though I'm American and probably didn't really get certain parts of the book I thought it was a fantastic book.

it was a very good film i caught on mater piece theater some time ago. did it air as a tv movie on the bbc?
it was a great film i wish would be repeated people who i thought would never be intrested in it were inthralled. it kind of lost steam towards the end, but the first half was excellent.
I understand your criticism about the end of of the text. When I read the book, I enjoyed it immensely, but was rather confused by the ending; it seemed like it veered into non-reality after a certain point. That said, I'd still like to see the movie some time.
