Gimme some of that!

Anyone know where I can get my hands on a VHS of White Teeth? PBS.org just has the book and the soundtrack.

I emailed PBS and asked about it being released on VHS or DVD, and apparentally there's a legal issue with some of the music used in the mini-series, and so it can't be released yet.

That has been a sore point with many DVD releases now. Musicians, the song writers, etc. want the same residual rights as writers, actors, etc. It can cost a lot of money to preserve the soundtrack. Another great PBS movie Lathe of Heaven took forever because the original had the original Beatles's song "A Little Help from My Friends". The song is an intergral part of the movie, so they couldn't just drop it. The DVD has the song, but sung by an unknown (which is cheaper). Other shows have completely changed soundtracks when they are released on DVD so they don't have to pay more money to use it. DVD sales are lucative.

I' currently watching it on Acorn TV streaming service in the US. I am convinced the crap music I'm hearing is replacement music. I had to come here and check.
