Series One, Episode Six....there is a mistake...

They are having a meeting, before an operation. Henno and Pete are absent. Danny comes in and asks what this bloke is doing here who is recently off selection.

Dotsy says: "Boat troop found out he couldn't swim"

WRONG.

Swimming is a part of SAS selection.
You have to be able to swim a certain distance in full beltkit before advancing further is selection.

This is a mistake i picked up on the second time i saw that episode.

People kill in the name of allah,I bet they'll be really pissed when they find out he doesn't exist

Had you watched the Series 1 Episode "Natural Selection" you'd have found out that Mike Sharp (The bloke you are refering to) couldn't swim. He cheated in selection which he admitted to Louie and the other E&C guys with him. He said he was tall enough to be able to walk most of the way. If you remember in the episode when they had to cross the river he had to be rescued as he couldn't swim.

if you remember he said "he walked most of it"... wether it was possible or not. But it is a bit of a plot hole agreed.

I don't think they meant he couldn't swim at all, just that he was a bit sh*te at it!!

Russell can't be with us tonight...he's in Guantanamo Bay

I agree, as you could see in "Natural Selection" he was obviously able to swim, but not very good at it. He made his way across the river without help.
I think Dotsy was just pulling his leg there. He had me howling, at least.

My take on it was that he passed the swimming tests but struggled in 'real' situations - seas, rivers etc

So he could swim but he wasn't all that confident with it.

It was just a joke, a bit of a put down
