This is my idea of Tremors 5...

Tremors 5: The Cold that Kills

Here is my plot:

The year is 2010, a cold day in Alaska goes bad for a group of traveler's stranded on a mountain top who needs "Burt Gummer's" help when a new breed of Graboids known as "Rock Climbers" attack, but Burt won't do it alone, he brings his old buddies Earl and Val and of course the other friends come along, but will they survive the cold or be killed?

First, I've got to ask: Why "rock climbers"? The second 'mutation'walking one can already effectively climb on rocks, and setting it in Alaska would serve no real purpose (where would your graboids->shriker->rock climber stuff take place?). Then, I've also got to ask: "2010? What's the point?" Will something extraordinary happen in the next 4 years that you'd need it set then?

Adding to that: Burt seems fairly competent and head-strong to just do something like that with little back-up...So I have no idea why you'd get all ~20 of those characters together for no good reason. Especially since some of them seem to not want to be associate with the series anymore or have been basically written off (Bacon, McEntire...maybe even Fred Ward).

The movies seem to have written themselves into a corner...since everyone on the planet essentially knows about the creatures, there's not really anywhere that you could go back to original tremors functionality (people panicking and being killed off one by one by underground versions).

I think you'd need new 'evolved' versions of graboids capable of tunneling through conrete and roots so that they could start attacking people in cities...then we might have something.

Now that the Graboid life cycle has been fully laid out
Egg-Minigraboid-Graboid-Shrieker-Assblaster.
How does anyone expect to introduce new types of Graboids.
I'm not opposed to the idea, if someone can come upwith a way to do it logically.
