Loved the ending

Perhaps I might have got the movie wrong (Asian movies are often hard to get for western people), but I loved the magic realism involved in it; they also somehow managed to subtly make the ugly and tragic look beautiful. Loved when they ended up swimming in some sort of timeless blue fish tank *sob*. It made me cry, only God knows why.

Indeed, I loved that bittersweet ending as well. It was quite poetic, besides the spanish guitar added a tone of melancholy truly powerful.
I can see that not only in Latin-America "magic realism" is received well. Many asian films adds a touch of magic realism as well with wonderful results.

I love that song too. The final scene is just so bittersweet.

Does anyone know what that song is? It's played during the beginning of the film and during the final scene/end credits (of course). It's just so beautiful. Anyone have any ideas?

I haven't seen the movie and so I don't know if this is what you're looking for, but there's a track of the movie on the CD "Musique & Cinéma du monde - Asie", which was produced by Mk2 Music.

Track 5: "Yi (train station)" performed by Lin Huei-Ping.
