I saw this movie at the Tribecca film festival and it was sweet. There really wasn't a great source of information about the MC5 before this film, and it perfectly tells the story. I already knew a little bit about them before I saw this, but I walked out of the theatre with a world of information that I didn't have before watching it. Does anyone have any information on when/if a DVD will be released? There's no info about a DVD on the website http://www.futurenowfilms.com , but if anyone has that info that would be sweet. It's one of my favorite documentaries. If anyone gets a chance to see it I suggest you do. Don't be a sissy. Peace!
You've probaby already read this by now, but if not... The film is NOT getting released because of a dispute between the film makers and the band (read: Wayne Kramer). Beow are some old links about it.
The Guardian says until the mess is resolved(I ask: can it?), "we'll probably have to settle for Sonic Revolution: A Celebration of the MC5, a band-sponsored combination of period home movies and recent live footage". http://film.guardian.co.uk/patterson/story/0,12830,1192632,00.html
Good links, though the Detroit News one isn't online anymore.
Apparently, this documentary won't be shown becauseof a missing credit for Wayne Kramer for his role as musical producer. Now, if a credit is so important for Kramer, let the baby have his bottle. And let us have the documentary...
just found a torrent with seeds for this on isohunt, so excited, wanted to see this film since i first heard it was being made years ago, sure i'd be happy to pay money for it but WAYNE KRAMER IS A COCK so what can ya do eh?
