Puzzling director's comment

I watched the movie and enjoyed it, then went back and checked out the special features. There was an odd director's comment that said the main character- I assume this refers to Leila Hatami- broke her leg and he had to change the ending of the movie. I wish a little more detail had been provided and maybe we could have been told how the original movie was intended to end.
