The closest equivalent to brown sauce in the States would be steak sauce, but it's not exactly the same. As an American, when I think of steak sauce, I think of A1 and brown sauce is a little different. A popular brown sauce (in Ireland that I've seen) is HP Sauce. I've seen it sold in a few stores in the States. Alot of my friends in Ireland used it at breakfast on their eggs, bacon, sausage, etc. but also on other foods like meat and potatoes.
shareI love HP sause. Its a kiwi faveourite too.
