Rotten Tomatos vs. IMDB: Round 1, FIGHT!!

So on IMDB this film has a 7.0 rating out fo 10. On Rotten Tomatos it only has a 30%. What's the deal?

I for one enjoyed this film. For the most part, naysayers say that this film offers little or nothing. However, whatever happened to the days of film for entertainment sake? Look at Jerry Lewis' movie, The Bell Boy. That was great.

Since when does a film, even about war, have to stab your mind's eye with a poignant, life-changing renaissance of ideas that move us to become Oliver Stone fan boys and daring political activists?

Have people forgot that the golden age of movies didn't have Hollywood shoving dogma down our throats? Has it really become the accepted convention that good movies must sear our brains with new forms of logic and must completely sway us to one side or another?
