Gregg Binkley/Don Knotts
who else thought he looks nothing like Knotts.

They probably cast him just for the voice.
shareConsidering in real life Don Knotts and Norman Fell who played Mr Roper were about the same age. So it was probably just for the voice. They did nothing to make him look any older really!
Also the guy playing KNotts never really came out of the "EXAGERATED" voice of the original actor. I don't think Don Knotts talked goofy ever second of the day.
Wasn't there a guy who appeared a couple of times on the show "Full House" who had a dead-on Don Knotts voice? He usually played a security guard.
Gregg Binkley as Knotts was pretty tacky, but then again this film was overall a big tacky production.
I thought he did a pretty good job.
Shoot, if you don't think he looked anything like Don Knotts, then you probably don't think any of the people looked like their characters. The person playing Mrs. Roper looked nothing like her, neither did Mr. Roper. And I never thought the girls looked anything like their counterparts either. Especially the girl playing Suzanne.
The only person who looked anything like his character was Brett Anthony. He's almost John's identical twin brother!
So quit griping. These actors served their purpose which was to play a role. And they all did a good job with it.
I thought they did a great job on finding actors that looked like the actor they were protraying - especially the Ropers! The Don Knotts guy, on the other hand, was way too young.
Why are the most tolerant the easiest to offend?
I just saw this movie and when he was on screen all I could think was "Dan the Del Taco Guy". It was good for a chuckle.
sharehe had his voice down patt
