Scandinavia and Families!!!!

I saw this film today as part of the Festival in Auckland, New Zealand, and I was greatly impressed by it, as I toured Iceland in 2001; this scenery is just what I saw and is awe-inspiring....of course I was reminded of the marvellous Danish film "Festen" (The Celebration).....the family members set out to rip the throats out of others in the family.....these two movies are gripping and I cannot help but think they are like Ingmar Bergman on "speed"....see it if you can; I shall certainly be waiting for the dvd to be available

I saw the flick yesterday and loved it. It does reminds me of the movie "Festen" because of the family gathered together and the big secret conserning the father breaks the family. I like to know the folk song the family sang on the piano before the father announced he would disinherited the children? I heard that song on a report about Iceland years back.

Hafið is based on a play that was made before Festen sot it's deffinetly not ripping it of....but if it is ripping off any movie that movie/play would be Cat on hot tin roof not Festen.
