IMO, this is the best Broken Lizard's movie. It's not becuase it is hilarious, but it is just the most rewatchable. I bought this movie only becuase I loved Super Troopers so much, but every time I watch Club Dread I like it even more. I will say that Super Troopers is funnier, but Club Dread is better. Only by a lil' bit tho

I agree the movie does get funnier as you re-watch it. Ive seen it many times and I still find various parts hilarious.
Its not the best movie ever made, but thats the whole point. Parts that look crude or bad were more than likely meant to. That is how I look at the movie and is the reason I enjoy it.
Parts that look crude or bad should be 'funny' if they were meant to, not just crude or bad, which is what the movie looked like. Beerfest was much more humorous.

I completely agree with this post. It's the subtle nuances in the writing that make this movie hilarious, and I'm sure they go over many people's heads. My favorite is the scene where Dave says "We swapped out a six foot Swedish chick for this guy?" and Lars replies "I'm 6'1" and then Dave says "Cool!" That type of sarcasm is rife throughout the film and it seems like most people only see the intentional continuity errors and such...they are mocking what is wrong with horror movies...
but then again I think movies like Wrong Turn and Cabin Fever, etc. are unintentionally funny so of course Im going to like a film that mocks those type of movies

I agree, Club Dread is one of the funniest and most undderated films ever made. Ive seen it a bunch of times and it gets better w. every watch. Super Troopers is also great and undderated. Puddle cruiser just sucked. still havent seen beerfest :(

Super Troopers is easily the best (and very rewatchable), but Club Dread is hugely underappreciated. I pick up on subtle things everytime I watch it, and there are so many quotes:
-"This guy's gonna be picking his teeth out of my dump" (still don't even know what that means, but I love it)
-"There's always one *beep* like you trying to *beep* in the apple pie. Well you just shat in the one apple pie that knows how to *beep* back."
-"Oral Roberts? Is that like Anal Johnson? Cuz I've done that a few times."
-Anything by Coconut Pete, especially the songs("Theres a little place called Pleasure Island, that's where I'd like to feel ya!"); Bill Paxton is top-notch
hell yah its my fav the more yiyu watch it the more you love it not to mention you pick up in tiny/subtle BL humor.
shareI didn't really care for this outing from the Broken Lizard guys. I love Super Troopers and Beerfest is pretty good, as well, but I just couldn't get into this one. I saw the unrated version, and felt it went on way too long. Perhaps I would enjoy the theatrical version a bit more since its a little shorter.
Don't get me wrong, I've seen worse comedies and worse horror flicks, but as far as the Broken Lizard flicks, I say this is the less satisfying of the bunch. (By the way, I haven't seen 'Puddle Cruiser'.)
I did let out a few laughs, mainly at some of Coconut Pete's lines ("Son of a son of a BITCH!") and album titles/song titles, but I won't watch it again.

This is one of my favorite movies, not just Broken Lizard, but movies in general. The first weekend I rented it, I watched it at least 6 times. I still haven't gotten sick of it and I watch it monthly.
It's also a great movie to watch tanked.

It seems based on the posts that it's hit or miss. People either love it or hate it. I find it to be hilarious. The characters and acting really make the movie. Rewatch value on this one is really high. I have seen all of BL's movies. If I had to rank them based on how much I liked them here's how it'd go: 1. Club Dread/Super Troopers (tie, can't make up my mind on that one), 2. Beerfest, 3. Puddle Cruiser (still good despite being last)
I can't wait for Slammin Salmon...as well as Super Troopers 2.
