Where Was Hostage Scenes Filmed?

Where was the hostage scenes in the woods filmed? In the film locations area of this site, it said that they filmed in Asheville, North Carolina and two towns in Gorgia, and also in Philidelphia or something. Did the hostage scenes take place outside of Asheville, because I've seen Asheville, North Carolina last summer and Asheville is surrounded by mountains and vallies. I don't know. I just remember seeing this mountainus vally in the scene where it begane to rain and Redford's character tried to excape from Dafoe's character. Maybe some of you might know.

The hostage scenes were indeed filmed in Asheville, NC. I am a native to the area and was very excited to hear that they were filming in Asheville. The clearing that is filmed showing the valley surrounded by the mountains is definitely shot overlooking the Asheville area. Western North Carolina is a beautiful part of the country and filmmakers need to take more advantage of the scenery here.

Oh really, your from Asheville. I went to Asheville last summer while on a week long motorcycle trip with my dad. We spent two nights there. The area is beautiful but it rained while we were there and made the area look all gray and gloomy but I'm sure when the sun is out, it is really pretty. I also loved downtown Asheville. Very artsy area. I know if I moved there, I would feel right at home. My dad and I went to the Builtmore Estate, which I'm sure as you know is the big thing to do there. The estate was hudge and beautiful on the inside. Getting to Ashville was an adventure and a pain in the butt, because it started to rain, really heard and it was getting late, and we were on the Blueridge Parkway. It sucked because we just kept on riding and riding on the B.P. and looking for our exit into Asheville but it just kept on raining and raining, I didn't know when it would stop. We were on a motorcycle so as you can imagin, by the time we got to the hotel we were soked to the bone.
Now I know how Robert Redford, Willem Dafoe, and the crew must have felt being rained on in Asheville, N.C.

Thanks wiggum-2 for "clearing" that up.

It seems quite odd the the word "writer" is in your pen name.

Perhaps the OP just wants to reach out for some sense of community.
