relationship of Hilary Swank character and guy who shot her

Were they former lovers? He coerces her threatening some prior summer action that they apparently did. They seemed too close to just be that - maybe cousins or brother/sister?

They were not related. They were just really good friends who had a brief fling in the past.

Have you ever heard of such a thing as a "Spoiler Alert"???????

Thanks a ton - I came here to find out more about this movie I just heard of, and now thanks to you I already know that Hillary Swank's character gets shot, without having seen one minute of the movie.

Suggestion: Next time do your subject title something like this:
Hillary Swank character question: ****SPOILER ALERT******

Dude, relax.
I'm pretty sure most people know better than to go through the message boards, or even look down at them on the main page before seeing the movie.
If you want to know more, keep your eyes on the summary or look elsewhere on the internet.
If we had to be that cautious all the time, pretty much every title would say that.

And a bit of advice, you don't need seven question marks to punctuate the end of your sentence. One will suffice, beyond that it's just annoying.

It's also in the trailer. Pretty sure it doesn't count as a spoiler when the trailer shows her getting shot.

Geez, calm down, ninetyninedegrees! The Hillary Swank gunshot thing isn't that big a surprise anyway. I mean, it's not like he told you that Rachael Leigh Cook gets hit by a car & killed at the end. I could see you being pissed then....

I've never understood why somebody would read a message board of a movie BEFORE they've seen it, unless they just wanted to know some specific thing and never planned on actually see it. Spend the $1 and get it from Red Box, or add it to your Netflix account, it's not a life or death decision. We came here to talk about the movie, not walk on egg shells.
