Dubbed v. Subtitled: a pointless argument?

Of course the dubbing is bad, I hate it too, I lament over it too, but there is a simple solution: JUST WATCH THE SUBTITLED VERSION INSTEAD!
Have these purists forgotten that the subtitled track is available on the DVD? Why are so many fans of the manga series planning to not even watch the anime because the dubbing is bad, when 90% of them were never planning to watch the dubbed version anyway? How much sense does it make to not watch the subtitled version just because the dubbed version is bad?
Their rants are made even more ridiculous by the fact that on these DVDs, the subtitled track is the default track, so you don't even have to waste time navigating the setup menu to watch the original subtitled version.

I agree with you. This is the same crap with the Naruto Dubbing. So many people, who have seen the original already, are complaining about the dub and fearing what it could be..when really, no one is forcing them to watch the dub. They can continue watching the subs, as they have been doing while watching their fansubs.

You've got zero talent. Zero.

this is all im saying, subs is way better then watching it dubbed...

I enjoy watching things in my original language.

I'll watch something in Japanese, but my eyes are really bad and I have to sit close to the TV to read the subtitles. It's nice to have good voice actors in your own language.

I can understand their anger, but I don't understand not watching it at all. If you really want to know the story it's worth the effort.

The argument is pointless. And slightly offensive as I aspire to be a voice actress.

Not everybody has the brain capacity to read subs and pay attention to the animation and completely comprehend everything at once. If you can, I applaud you, but recognize that some of us can't deal with subtitles.

You struggle so desperately human.
