Hello...? Anyone?...Are you there?

Someone? Anyone? Please someone say something. Let me know that this board isn't completely dead...

Yay! Another living person.

Oh, and are you talking about my other post? Guess so.
Anyway, I was asking because they never say anything about it being rape, only a beating. Atleast in the manga (without the obvious picture of it happening) it is still pointed out that it was definitely rape (we have characters saying so), where as in the anime noone mentions rape at all. Though there are some hints that something more then a beating could have happened (the hand up the shirt and such), but these could just be throwbacks to the actual events in the manga.

...once again this board is dead. So sad.

I am also a fan of Gravitation, I just don't come on the IMDB boards a lot.

---He might as well have just been beaten up instead.---

Honestly, I believe that's all that happened to him in the anime. I mean if Shu was raped then how come no one says so in both the sub and the dub? The few times when it is talked about the characters only mention that Shu let some guys beat him up for Yuki. Never is it suggested that he was raped. There is that hand up the shirt, but without anything more it appears to only be a taunt towards Shu to deeply bother him.

I guess that my problem is that in the anime if they were going to let something as bad as rape happen to a character, then they shouldn't avoid the fact that he was raped (and gang-raped, at that). I mean, some one say it! This is a terrible thing. If the creators of the anime wanted to keep the rape part in there then why did they not even have it said that that's what happened if they didn't want to outright show it?

Sorry that my post started to get a little long. This is just one of the major things that bugs me about the show.

Yeah, we probably shouldn't be taking this too seriously. After all, Gravitation is a silly little show (but in a good way).

Like you said though "They made it seem like being raped is something that you just get over and that bothered me."

It's one of those little irritations that nags at the back of my mind whenever I what the anime. If the creators are willing to do that to a character than they should at least face that fact and not tip-toe around it. They had a chance for some good character development and deep, emotional scenes but just left this aspect of the plot hanging.
