The writer of this movie wrote "Man of the House" in 1995.

According to IMDB, he didn't write anything from "Man of the House" in 1995 until "Cold Creek Manor" in 2003.

I assume that sometime after the box office numbers came in for "Man of the House," he decided he was the worst writer ever and went into a deep depression.

He wrote this movie in his heavily medicated depression.
