Scene with Snakes 55 minutes into the movie... What?

Okay - I just randomly turned this on cable - to a scene with Dennis Quaid and his brood running through the hallway and up the stairs running from a bunch of rattle snakes.... uhm... WTF - that's some of the funniest over-acting I have ever seen... is the rest of the movie like this?

This scene does not make me want to watch more.

It was comical; not one hint of suspense or horror. What a turkey!

A bunch of different types too. That ruined it for me.

I loved how the boa rattled...you know, like a rattlesnake. Wow.

I only saw one that was poisonous. In a corner, top of the stairs.

Not to mention a couple of them were pet shop snakes. Meaning you can't find them in the wild of America, let alone NY state.

Until this moment, the film was actually moving along fairly well and had the potential of being a good movie but it all went downhill from the snakes on.

Also stupid how multiple ones appear right after first one is spotted. I doubt Stephen Dorffs character was able to choreograph their moves like that.
