I had high hopes for this flick based on the cast and some of the user reviews I read, but man.... this was one of the most boring movies Ive seen in a while. The drippy piano music, lame pretentious still photo scenes, cringe inducing monologues and VOs, and overall sense of doom and gloom didnt help.... next time Im suffering from insomnia maybe Ill pop it in, but for now both the wife and I agreed that this was a stinker and stopped watching about 2/3rd of the way through.

can't believe people are relating this to kubrick. not in a million years.

I totally agree,
watching it for an hour now;
or to be honest, I've watched 40 minutes, and fast forwarded 20 minutes, but it is indeed booooooooooooring.
One heavy depressive song after another, one "wise lesson" and analogy by the narrator after another, but nothing to show for.
These things should support scenes, but unfortunately there is nothing to support.

I expected some drama and action like domestic violence due to alcohol abuse, but this is a total disapointment.

Don't waste your time with this snoozefest.

Herjabram, are you saying you didn't like this film because there wasn't enough wifebeating in it? You wanted lots of women to take a kicking and then that "drama and action" would have been more enjoyable for you! Sicko.

you're twisting words and turning them around like a politician.

Take a movie like 2012; doesn't matter if you like it or not, but would you rather have someone 'telling' you the story in a movie, or would you rather 'see' it?
Do you want to see the disaster in that movie, or do you want to see/hear someone telling you what happened.
I want to see a story in a movie, not listen to it, and it's pretty pathetic if you turn that around in acting like I like to se women beat.
You'd LOL if you knew my profession, when you say that.
