Miller always knowing where Frankie is

That annoyed the hell out of me. This guy just randomly shows up in so many locations where Frankie is. In an entire city, it's like he just knows where he is, and what he's doing. Did he constantly have spies out and about?

SPOILERS!!!!

At the end, after Frankie went for a decent run to get away from them (they were magically waiting outside the bar), these guys had this perfect trap set up for him after Frankie took a maze of alleys and roads to get away. They were waiting in an alley, with a gate to block any escape... It just annoyed the hell out of me how convenient it was.

Miller only bumped into Frankie every few years - there's nothing to suggest these weren't accidental meetings.

I thought Miller was not a real character, but was symbolic of how Frankie would be destroying his own life whenever he drank. It appeared Miller only appeared when Frankie fell off the wagon. In fact, his entire entourage might be not real, but are representative to how out of control Frankie is when he drinks.

It is too much of a coincidence that Miller shows up randomly. Miller is the bad side of Frankie that only comes out with alcohol. Frankie is constantly battling him when he is drunk, but only then.

Instead of showing Frankie all drunk and messy, the movie takes a symbolic approach of showing Frankie fight with Miller instead.
