Dante's films always seem to center around a family or family ties in angst or very stressful circumstances. As he attempts to root the horror of his characters in the abstract and the bizarre, he seems to be maintaining a strong sense of realism for the characters. Therefore, as in real life, revenge or vindication may not immediately come, if ever at all.
