Tries to rip off Texas Chainsaw Masscre

excpet this takes place in the New Jersey Pine Barrens. I should also mention that the acting is pretty poor, and the scares largely ineffective and silly. This film is a waste of time for anyone with a taste for a good horror flick. Avoid this one like the plague.

Who cares what games we choose, little to win and nothing to lose..

It was weird and stupid at times. It did seem like a TCM rip off in some ways. You gotta admit though that old lady was creepy! 96 years old and luring people into her spooky home lol.

What on Earth does it have in common with Texas Chain Saw Massacre, apart from being a horror movie set in a rural place?

This movie certainly does NOT "rip off" TCM. In fact it is most similar to the original "Evil Dead," but it's not ripping off that movie either. "Satan's Playground" is an OBVIOUS tribute to 80's horror in general. And i know of quite a few horror fans that really enjoyed this movie, me included. It's fun, and manages to be atmospheric, and suspenseful at the same time. Who could possibly not appreciate Irma st. Paul and her insane performance as the crazy old woman living in the forest? Dante Tomaselli is quite a fascinating director, and i'm waiting for his next feature, which is supposed to be a kind of remake of "Alice Sweet Alice." in case you haven't heard of THAT film; it is one of the finest horror movies of all time.

Well if anything, it does have atmosphere.
