I'm pretty sure the Dalai Lama has never eaten at Subway or Dominos Pizza, so it's understandable he might not get such a reference. My dad used to have a joke involving an engineer that worked on a plane whose wings always broke off. His solution, to drill holes at exactly that place where the wings were breaking off. Why? Matzo never breaks along the holes. That is a joke that ONLY a Jewish engineer would comprehend!
