Why would anyone want to be in a wheel chair?
They said she has 12 patents on antipsychotic medication.
Maybe she should be taking some of it herself.

I think I remember this episode. I've watched several docs on transabled and body integrity identity disorder (the strong desire to amputate a healthy limb).

These are some of the oddest, yet morbidly fascinating psychological disorders I think I've ever heard of. It is just almost foreign to me why anyone would desire to be completely paralyzed or have a healthy limb cut off.

If you ever get bored, you should read some of the following blogs (or storie) on this website:

It reminded me of psychiatrists who are religious. Kind of like the blind leading the blind. A delusional psychiatrist can't be much help to their patients.

There was an episode of "Broken Minds" on Discovery Fit & Health about a man who hated his left leg and wanted to be an amputee. He was an intelligent accomplished doctor and a normal guy in every other regard except that for nearly his entire life he was hiding this secret. He felt like his leg was some alien thing that didn't belong on his body and he grew obsessed with getting rid of it. It got to the point that he tried to construct an "accident" that would force an amputation, unsuccessfully. He couldn't stand it anymore and went to a third-world country that would perform the surgery.

Your mind's perception of yourself doesn't always match up with what you see. For these people it's not as easy as feeling like a blonde and just changing your hair color one afternoon. Sometimes they're in a state of emotional turmoil for decades, struggling to make sense of the disconnect. It makes me think of what transgender people go through.

The thing that p'd me off, was when she parked in the handicap park space. Wishing that you were disabled, and actually being disabled are two different things.
