I dunno if it's piracy, but I guess the Mexicans marketed SCARY GODMOTHER: HALLOWEEN SPOOKTAKULAR as a sequel to THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS! This sort of thing was done before. My memory isn't good, but it was Germany or Russia that marketed the TV movie TOTAL RECALL 2070 as MATRIX 2 (or something like that)! It's no surprise.
