Can anybody help me wtih a song that is playing almost at the beginning of the movie? The beat or melody or whatever are the same, or at least very reminiscent of an American or British song, but I can't find out which. Please help.

I am not sure, i think AR Rahman wrote the songs right?

No. It was Gulzar who wrote the lyrics.
