Why such a sad abrupt end?

I hated the scene where rani is shown badly wounded. It should have been shown in the beginning not the end. The movie was good and very good in the beginning, very real too. But I like very happy endings, sigh.

It was a happy ending. i absolutely luvvv this movie!!!!!!! its my all time fav! it was brialliantly put together...! and the dialogues were very down to earth...unlike other bollywood movies full of melodrama. all the songs are full of emotions...i like all the songs esp...chupke se and chori pe chori. this movie has some real life aspects to it like the clothing, make-up, their residence and...the mumbai local trains!!!!! loved this movie!!! i've seen it atleast 10 times since it was released. two thumps up!!!

I've seen this version and the original Tamil version... and i have to say that it is definitely not as good as the film 'Alaipayuthe'...to me that just seemed more real...it's something about hindi film makers, they tend to make everything so picturesque (even when its not meant to be)... but the endings for both films are good...it ends with a sense of hope for the future...

OMG the ending was tragic - after such an accident she would die in a split of the second - it's so unreal! And 20 min after brain operation she wakes up, talks and smiles like nothing has happened. And all she has is a fake wound on her cheek that looks like it's going to fall off her face. Love this film - and songs, but the ending - and this bad special effect really should be different.

Disliked it. Why did Rani fall for Vivek? Doesn't make any sense whatsoever.

She could not resist Vivek coming on to her. Maybe she liked his charm.
