Nicebat and I had to party.
Well, as you know, I've just managed at long last to get a Region 2 DVD.
I enjoyed it since it's the kind of movie where you wonder what's going to happen next. I knew (obviously) how it would end but the way Ellsberg got involved and how his views changed as he found out more of what was going on kept me involved in the storyline.
I thought all the acting was good and Spader in particular, especially in what was for him a different kind of role - a person who was quite ordinary but got involved in an extraordinary situation.
I can't understand why it was given a wider release.
I was amazed at the quality of the acting, when Daniel (Spader) told Patricia (Claire Forlani) that he would have her convinced of his case by dawn, he had ME convinced the Vietnam War was a good idea, just by the way he said it. Which is ridiculous, as Rose is a peaceful Rose who hardly ever gets her thorns out.
