I saw the sold-out, SRO screening In Lincoln Center last night and it was great! Sergio Castellitto participated in a brief "Q&A" after the film. He did say that his first cut ran three hours and twenty minutes. Based on Castellitto's comment about how the the rape was really a clash of his character's isolation with that of Penelope Cruz' Italia, I would have preferred to have seen was another scene before that encounter to more strongly established his character's of isolation. We do get it later in the film, but I think it would have made this film even stronger to have set it up before the "rape".

I agree with the other poster's comments on Penelope Cruz' performance, she was fanastic, the best performance I have ever seen from her. I also like the subtlety in the performance of the actress who played Castellitto's wife. And of course Castellitto himself was wonderful.

The films will be starting a general US release in New York in March, so it should eventually play in the major US cities. And there is always DVD. Castellitto said he kept his three hours plus version on a DVD, so you never know...

Thanks a lot for the information, Neil.
I think it would be perfect if the director´s cut of the film goes on sale in the future.
Did Castellitto comment anyhting about why "Don´t move" couldn´t release in the States last Dercember and, in that way, to be a contender in next oscars?

I´m sure Penelope would have been nominated for best actress¡¡

I see on wireimage photo site it had LA premier last night 13/03/05..(attended by Olivier Martinez with Salma Hayek..rumours must be true then.)...however... despite the carrpy review here i had hears Cruz was/is`pretty good in this movie.I am in britain so do not expect it fo a mnoth or so..so can make no comment. Cruz and hayek are such beautiful women and usch fine actresses it is a shame they keep getting panned in movies...with a couple of notable exceptions. Is it a bit of Hollywood bias on Latino stars....
