Come on Dario, is this the best you can do these days?

Just watched this on Netflix and am glad to say I was able to do work on another computer while it streamed in my peripheral vision. The story was so badly cliche-ridden and obvious I knew the killer's identity instantly. And for those of us who play know how to play, this movie was a painful insult to poker players everywhere, not to mention fans of Argento, horror, or quality filmmaking, period.

I started reading an article in Time magazine while I watched this movie. I can honestly say I didn't miss a thing. Don't know how Argento went from Deep Red to stuff like this.

Well, this is infinitely better than Mother of Tears in my opinion. Compared to Mother of Tears, Phantom of the Opera and Argento's episodes of the Masters of Horror series, The Card Player and and his most recent film Giallo look like near-masterpieces.

i thought this was just as bad as Phantom of the Opera infact i may of liked Phantom of the Opera litle more as the scene with the rat catchers was one of the funnest things i have seen in a while

this was just bland i will give one thing it was shot well but it had such a poor script and acting and was just full of intentional humer

i thought mother of tears and ghallo were better than this and thay wernt exactly master pieces

you will have to forgive the lack of full stops lack of proper spelling im dyslexic but not stupid

I am a big fan of Argento's film making.
Unfortunately this movie is one of the weakest.
You can sense rush in production, small budget and many holes in the plot.
And the ending (railway track scenes)... Boy'o'boy... It's like from those cheap B-horrors made by college kids.
I don't think I ever gonna come back to see this movie again.

reply

Nope. This movie was good
