Last of the Murder, She Wrote?

I know that the series has ended, after having a wonderfully long run, but are they going to produce more Murder, She Wrote movies? Or maybe restart the series? If anyone has information on the future of Murder, She Wrote, I would be grateful for answers.

As long as Angela Lansbury is alive and healthy there will probably still be a chance for a new TV movie. She acted in Law & Order 2 years ago and is probably still up for it these days.

At the time you posted this, sluido, I would have said you were right. However, this movie is credited by most places to be the end of the Murder, She Wrote series. Angela has had a knee and both hips replaced, and is now 86. The last time she acted was four years ago so I doubt that she will consider coming back to the JB Fletcher character, or maybe even acting in general, at all. I would love to see it, but it is highly unlikely to happen.

She has said that she'd love to come back to the role. And I don't know why you think she hasn't acted in four years. She's been on Broadway constantly since 2007 (Deuce, Blithe Spirit, A Little Night Music, and Gore Vidal's The Best Man). And theatre, in my opinion, seems like it would be far more difficult than film.

Perhaps it is ignoble to complain...

In a recent episode of 'The View' Lansbury said that she would love to play Jessica Fletcher in another 2 hour movie if her son finds a suitable story.

I know this post is 5 yrs since the OP but it doesn't look like any more Murder She Wrote movies or episodes will be done. While Angela Lansbury has said that she would love to play Jessica Fletcher again , it has been almost 9 yrs since this movie came out and she is now 86 and I think it's just too late and she is getting rather frail and probably will retire. If they do reboot the series they'd have to get someone else to be the new Jessica Fletcher ,someone like maybe a Helen Mirren or similar who is around the age Lansbury was when she started the show back in the 80's

"So, a thought crossed your mind? Must have been a long and lonely journey"

I haven't seen Angela looking frail, she looks vibrant to me. Betty White is 90 and does a weekly sitcom. I'm sure Angela could pull of 2 hours of Jessica Fletcher for old time's sake.

I don't know why everyone keeps suggesting that Ms. Lansbury is frail. She's been on Broadway constantly this decade, and she's reportedly coming back for another production. And eight shows a week is a helluva lot more taxing than a few weeks filming for a few hours a day.

Perhaps it is ignoble to complain...

Does anybody here know anything about this "Driving Miss Daisy" Version with her that is listed as filmed in 2014 with a May 2015 release. Angela must be quite fit to make another movie at the Age of 89, but is this a regular Remake, or just something for TV or DVD?
