THIS IS Ju-On The Curse 2, the made for TV movie. PLEASE READ

This is not Ju-On The Grudge 2, which alot of you people seem to think it is.

Just to remind or inform everyone that this is Ju-On The Curse 2, the sequel to Ju-On The Curse, which are both made for TV movies. To what I know, these 2 movies haven't been released in America.

Ju-On The Grudge 1 & 2 are both Theatrical released movies that were made because of the success of these two TV movies. These two have been released on DVD in America. And is probably what most of you have seen.

Ju-On The Grudge 1 & 2 are not remakes of Ju-On The Curse 1 & 2. They are different stories.

The US "The Grudge" remake, was a remake of Ju-On The Grudge 1.

Ju-On The Curse 2 (TV MOVIE (2000)
Ju-On The Grudge (Theatrical Movie) (2003) ---->The Grudge (USA) remake (2004)
Ju-On The Grudge 2 (Theatrical Movie) (2003)
The Grudge 2 (USA) (2006) not a remake of any Ju-On's

I know alot of people know this, but just that so many people here have come here thinking it's Ju-On The Grudge 2, and they have probably voted for it here too. And if you look in the forums, alot of people have been confused.

Where do you get your info? You are confusing people!

This is JU ON 2 (2000), the second of the "Ju On" japanese films, and THE FIRST WITH A THEATHRICAL RELEASE, this is NOT a TV movie!
Nor was "Ju On" (2000), it was straight to video movie.
I know it's confusing, because they have the same title, but are different films, but "JU ON" (2003) is the one remaked as "The Grudge" for northamerican audiences.

Please, don't confuse people with the wrong information.

I think the OP is correct. You mentioned the first theatrical release is this JuOn 2 (2000) but according to Wikipedia, the first theatrical release is JuOn The Grudge (2003). What Wiki say is same as the OP said.

You said this JuOn 2 (2000) was theatrically release. You may be right as it was shown in Japan for 7 days, but still it is not a wide theatrical release so it is not officially claimed as the FIRST theatrical release.

No they are not TV movies, they are direct to video films. Ju on the curse 2 though is direct to video, it is released in a few limited theatres even before Ju on the Grudge 1 is released in a larger way.
