first he finds out one of his old school mates is a crazy stalker, then he finds out she's dead, then he finds out his wife's dead, then he finds out the kid's a bit funny and that the kids mum isn't quite as dead as he'd first thought.
Days don't come much worse than that.

Gotta feel bad for the guy, I mean he was just a simple unsuspecting teacher checking up on one of his students to make sure he's alright, had no idea whatsoever of what was coming at him.
