The Original Ju-On House Location in Tokyo ???

Hi!

I was planning a trip to Tokyo in a few years, and I wanted to know if someone could help me find the location where Ju-On (the original, not the one with Sarah Michelle Gellar) was filmed.

I haven`t found any site with that info (or at least, a non japanese site), so I`ll very very thankful if a nihongo speaker could help me with that.

Thanks!

(by the way, let`s hope that this visit doesnt mean my doom)

Did you find out yet? In the commentary they mention where some scenes were filmed, but I don't recall where the original house is.

I think I found it, but I would like if someone from Japan could confirm it :)

This is the address I got, any clues I'll be thankful!

中野区江古田4-35-7

(character are japanese, so Im not sure if everyone will be able to read them on the screen)

And this are the Google Earth Coordinates, if someone can tell me if they are accurate...

35°43'25.13"N
139°39'35.53"E

Thanks!

The Japanese characters aren't showing, which is to be expected. :( As for the map, the view makes it difficult for me to tell if it's right or not. Maybe somebody else can help? But thanks for sharing what you've found! :)

I´ll try to get a screenshot of the address and the upload it to imageshack or something, so everyone can read it. Wait a little.

Thanks

I don't know if anyone lives in it, but it is a private house. I'm sure you could still visit it, as long as you were respectful to the neighbors by not being too noisy or trespassing. Besides, if you trespass and don't bring a toy, Toshio might tell his mommy. ;)

Well, I'm guessing it's being lived in now. With housing being hard to get in some areas, I'm sure that the house is no longer vacant, unless people were too scared to move in. ;)

If you do get to go, please take plenty of pix and share. ;) I'd love to go myself, but no funds at the moment.

I'm actually living about an hour away from the place by train. I was planning on going to the city where Kamikaze Girls takes place (just north of where I am) and Love Letter, but I didn't even think of Ju-on >_< I'll have to check it out if I can get someone to go with me. If you do go and can't read the kanji, it's in a district called Ekoda. It seems like it's not too far from Ikebukuro (a fairly popular place in Tokyo), so if you go you shouldn't have too many problems with it.

Just so you guys know, in the lower section of the JPG with the three characters in between, the characters mean either "Matawa" or "Mataha" I'm not sure which, because the third character can be translated two different ways. I'm leaning towards Mataha though.

Really? That's awesome! :) The area looks pretty nice and fairly quiet, tho it could be the time of day the outside scenes are shot, and they can always dub.

If you ever do go, please do share any info and pictures of the area. I'm always interested in learning more of foreign cultures.
