Civil Action by the parents

Hi
Does anyone know the outcome of the action taken by Michael's parents? Would like to know some heads rolled for the way these children and their families were treated.

I watched a documentary about this case last night and it must have been an old one as it never said what the outcome was, i'll google and try and find out. It did show you clips of the interrogation, and it was horrible

Well it's only the beginning baby L.A. in the summer anything could happen right?

Last I read (and this was maybe a year or two ago) the court had thrown out most of the civil suit, which I found unbelievable. I'm not sure if they were still following it up or not, or if they received compensation. But very little happened - definitely no "heads rolling" unfortunately.

Not sure what happened to the part of the case that was going ahead, that was the most I could find.

"A civil suit, which her family and others brought against Escondido police, remains on idle in a federal appeals court."

I guess it depends on if they were seeking it solely on his behalf or due to the trauma it caused to all of them.

What happened to those lunatic policemen? Does the US of A let them unpunished? Is that what I have to understand?

Seems you are right, this is all I could find but I only did a brief google: http://www.thaindian.com/newsportal/world/michael-crowe-wins-case-against-escondido-police-department_100304441.html
Sounds good for now.

Found another interesting recent article. Date is January 2011.

Apparently the whole crime could have been prevented had a lazy policeman gotten out of his car to go check on the scene... he saw their door open at night, but he didn't do anything. Wow...

Good to know it's still going ahead. I should read some of those other links when I have time.

That is interesting about the door being open - but what time was it? Do policemen usually go and check houses with doors open? You'd think that's a pretty common thing and they can't go around checking every little one - are they even allowed to walk onto somebody's property without a warrant/permission to do that if there are no other suspicious signs?
