do they find the real killer of that little girl that would be so upsetting that he was put through all of that and the killer is still out there

yes, Michael Crowe's lawyer asked for Richard Tuite's clothes to be tested for DNA and they found Stephanie's DNA on it...

I could not believe that he was not charged with murder though, and only manslaughter for which he got 13 years - what a *beep*

Tuite was convicted, but then ... higher ups, names and titles escape me... read his appeal and decided the evidence could have been contaminated by the police and acquitted him.

AFAIK the case is still considered unsolved. Again.
