Ron and Harry's behavior at the Yule Ball

I would have been pretty upset too, if I were the Patil twins. Ron and Harry only asked them because they still didn't have dates, not because they really wanted to go with them. Okay, that would be fine if they at least made an iota of effort to engage with them and have fun at the ball, but they just ignored them the whole time.

They were very rude to their dates. If you ask a girl to a dance, even if she wasn't your first choice, you still should treat her properly if she accepts.

True. Ron was pissed that that Krum has asked Hermione for the dance and not him. Hermione realizes that he was just masking his feelings for her by claiming that she was going out with the "enemy" aka krum. Well, at least he simmered down a bit when he kissed her in the chamber of not-so-secret-anymore. Ron felt that he was ignored by his own family and his two best friends...that fueled his jealousy. Harry looked bored out of his mind at the Yule, he was too awesome and popular for that kind of stuff.

Praise from the praise-worthy is beyond all rewards.
