This show died...

With Dana Fairbanks.

reply

Her death was one of the saddest, most unnecessary deaths in TV history. :-(

reply

I stopped watching after she died.

reply

Every time I rewatch this series, I kinda stop paying as much attention after season 3. Dana died...and Jenny went nuts, Bette cheated on everybody and still got what she wanted, Phyllis arrived, Carmen and Shane combusted, Hellen's character completely changed, Max's storyline went to pot...too much bad to outweigh the good after she left.

You're a sexual Disneyland.

reply

You completely put the words down I had in my head but couldnt find them myself it that makes sense!! I just know its off after her death, like everything and everyone falls apart.. I just find it soooo boring once she dies (I could skip so much!) as every lovely storyline dies with her. Not keen on Phyllis, Max, Bette storyline, basically most of the new characters + their storylines are crap!

reply

I felt this was a very powerful storyline and showed the realities of same sex partner health care issues.

The funeral was surreal and reminded me of the funeral of a family friend who died of Aids a long time ago. His parents had disowned him and were in denial up to the end. His boyfriend gave an impassioned speech much like Alice's outburst. Wow.

reply

What did the boyfriend say?

reply

The show died when Jenny died, but when Dana died it never was the same again.

reply

I like Dana.....but I thought the show carried on well in her absence. Now, if Bette had died...that would have been it for me.

the producer said that Dana died because she had to take out a main character in order to warn people about breast cancer, or cause awareness, but in reality, they felt her character had run its course, obviously, because NO WAY would Shane or any of the other characters get killed off, they obviously felt there was nothing more to do with Dana.

reply

I already knew what you were going to say when I clicked on the topic title. It's the most cruel thing that ever happened xD

reply

Yes!

Stupidest thing ever was to kill off Dana.

It's all because Erin somehow pissed of Ilene. Oh well, she was a favorite.

reply

Did she really make Illene mad?

reply

I was crushed, and mainly for Alice because she was my favorite character. But the gang was never the same again and that saddened me.
