DVD Video/audio sync gone wrong?

I rented this film from Cinema paradiso (UK) and it seems the audio is out of sync with the video. I've checked this on a computer and a stand-alone DVD player. It looks to me the audio is a few frames out of sync.

The DVD seems genuine, labelled on disk as "artificial eye" with "ART 259 DVD" printed above the "Dolls" title.

Anyone else seen this issue?

I'm just wondering.

I noticed this last night however it seems like it is only during the flashback/memory parts of the film. Could it be something intentional?

I have the same DVD but the audio on mine has completely disappeared. Is there a way of restoring it or should I just return it?

reply

It's intensional. Their mouths move at a much slower speed than the words are coming out. It's intensional.

I was JUST about to ask this same thing on here. It's happening with mine too (Artificial Eye). I guess no one really knows, but intentional seems to be mine and someone else's guess here.
