How many...

movies have they made based on the lives of serial killers? I haven't seen this one, but I would watch it if I saw it on the tv menu. I know entirely too much about serial killers! I wish I knew more about philosophy, and less about infamous sickos.

Yeah but you don't find out anything much about serial killers from these generally rubbishy movies - although I liked Dahmer! This one was a prime example of the genre - All you learn about is how to make a crappy low budget poorly acted film and that sucks even worse!!

Ummm...let's see here, there is...

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (Ed Gein)
Gacy A.K.A The Crawl Space (John Wayne Gacy)
Psycho (loosely based on the life of Ed Gein)
From Hell (Jack the ripper)
Jack the ripper 1930-? (Jack the ripper)
The Silence of the Lambs (loosely based on Dr. Hannibal Lector)

I know a lot about 'em too

I always watch the ones on the True channel. I've watched Dahmer, Bundy, Manson, and I'm sure there were others. You left out, The Summer of Sam (Son of Sam), ugh I can't even think. I'm telling you, I've seen almost all of them! Philosophy, here I come!

>>The Silence of the Lambs (loosely based on Dr. Hannibal Lector)<<

Hannibal Lector was not a real individual. He was a figment of Thomas Harris' imagination.

the texas chainsaw massacre and psycho are not based on a true story about a real serial killer and can not be put in this category.

Don't forget Monster. That was based on Aileen Wuornos.

Recent Films: Gacy, Dahmer, Ted Bundy, The Night Stalker (Richard Ramirez), Ed Gein, Speck. I think that is all.

Older ones: there are many about Manson. To Catch a Killer (Gacy); The Secret Life of Jeffrey Dahmer; Deranged (Gein, but name changed); Manhunt (Ramirez).

There are many more but I can't think of them.
