A couple of things i didn't quite understand

First I'd like to start off by apologizing if this has already been brought up in previous posts. So, am I to understand since at the very end it states that Gacy picked up about 2000 men, and that obviously he didn't kill all 2000, but that he would torcher them, rape them and then let them go? I'm referring mostly to the prostitute they show him pick up in the film. He wasn't worried that he'd go to the police, which he eventually did anyway, but what was Gacy thinking just letting him go like that?

Also, I think I missed something. When Tom (I think that was his name..his roommate?) just stopped talking to his girlfriend. Was it because she told him Gacy creeped her out and that he 'touched her inappropriately'? And he just didn't believe her maybe? Or perhaps Gacy made something up to Tom about the girlfriend and Tom was just pissed so he stopped talking to her.

Could somebody please help me understand?

i had read somewhere that gacy said of letting go of some (i don't know how many)of his victims that he had to because his crawl space was full and that he had 1 or 2 bodies already in the car to be dumped and that 1 body was in the attic at that time of confession. his work also took him to many other states. he might have killed there, or simply picked up someone for the night because he was out of town and who was going to know. it was stupid on his part to let some victims go.

I'm not sure if the number stated on the DVD is true, seeing as I haven't done too much research on Gacy, but it seems a bit of a stretch to me that not one of the many he had to have let go went to the police.

As for the question of Tom and Gretchen...Gacy threw her out of the house, claiming that there was a strict "no girls in the house" policy that Tom knew about. Then he must have told Tom that she just up and left without any explanation. That's why Tom refused to talk to her.

Gacy killed 33 males between the ages of 12 and 20. He only let two almost-victims go. A lot of this film is fictionalized.
