why did the guy who gacy owed money to also punch the victim?

punching that lard ass in the face was completely understandable, but who the hell does that then sees a young man choking to death on some tourniquet or whatever sick effin' strangulation device and whos life is clearly at steak, therefore just punches him as well? don't get me wrong it was funny as hell, but it just made no sense.
