Why was all John's music cut out?

I know that John Frusciante wrote pretty much an entire score/soundtrack that was to be used for this movie but I think only one song actually appears in the movie. Why did that happen?

Vincent felt it didnt fit the film. There is an interview with him about it somewhere. He said John did not take it well.

Hmmmmmm. Not TOO surprising. It's hard to imagine ANYTHING really fitting this film.

I think the music that ended up being used in the film were good choices. Very eerie and sad with an old sheen on them. Just like the film.
