Flying the Flag S. 3 Eps. 10 and 11

The side plot to this is Miles and his tormenting relationship with his neighbor - apparently Miles' new flag pole exceeds the neighbor covenants regarding the height of a free standing structure LOL - I am surprised that a covenant against a flag pole for the US flag would even exist especially in DC - I mean how high IS too high to fly our colors? LOL - can't wait to see how Miles remedies THIS one. We had someone here in Atlanta with a similar problem many years ago - the clamps that hold the flag hit the pole making a clanging sound (we've all heard it) and his neighbors complained - he vowed to pay the fine daily until his lawyers could fight and win the battle - he had people show up and encircle the flag pole for the ENTIRE YEAR standing vigil against anyone trying to take it down - all flag rules were obeyed, it was lowered in inclement weather, it was properly lit at night (no complaints about the lights and THAT is the one thing that would have bothered me - but when it comes to the flag I NEVER EVER would have fought him ESPECIALLY when you hear WHY he flew it) I never knew how much the fine was but he stood by his word and over a year later received some kind of waiver to fly his flag - his son was killed in one of the Gulf War battles THAT is why he flew the flag - I was PERSONALLY DEEPLY offended on his behalf but only wrote letters in his support - THANKFULLY he won and the Association had to refund all the fines. I cannot BELIEVE how persnickety people can be over something so confirming as flying our flag.

This show never fails to deliver on messages that are on point to our times and to the nation as a whole -- it does not hesitate to address unpopular or painful subjects, it never shies away from "politically correct" issues --- I really really miss this show and shows like it -- I will NEVER understand why programming like this - patriotic, faith based, addressing vital issues of today are ALWAYS cancelled - just does not make sense - I wish someone would come up with another similar theme OR bring this one back ---
