SUE THOMAS: F.B.EYE
Premiers Monday, April 6, 2009
on Animal Planet

“Sue Thomas: F.B.Eye”, inspired by the true story of the F.B.I’s first deaf surveillant and her hearing dog Levi, is coming to ANIMAL PLANET, beginning Monday, April 6, with a two-hour opener (8:00 – 10:00 p.m., ET/PT, 7:00 – 9:00 p.m., Central and Mountain. Thereafter, it will be shown in its regular time slot, Mondays at 9:00 ET/PT and 8:00 p.m. Central and Mountain.

Deanne Bray stars as a young deaf woman who, along with her hearing dog Levi, is starting her first job – with the F.B.I. – where Sue’s unique lip reading ability lands her in the bureau’s elite surveillance team. Suddenly Sue and Levi are “G-men,” caught up in more action than they ever bargained for. But what they lack in experience, they make up for in spirit and enthusiasm.

“This is a call to action for ‘Sue Thomas: F.B.Eye,’ fans” says co-creator Gary Johnson. “It’s a chance to enjoy your favorite ‘Sue Thomas’ episodes. And if the show does well, Animal Planet is interested in making new episodes. So we’d encourage fans to let them know you’re out there by telling them how much you enjoy the show.”

Once the show has started airing, let Animal Planet know that you love the show and that you are happy to watch ! You can contact them with the Viewer Relations's form. The process is a bit lengthy, but it will be worth it!

Please keep in mind that there has been talk since 2005 about networks that were "interested" in doing new episodes. There was even an announcement that cited a specific month (August) back in 2008. No network or cable outlet was named. A delay then was announced due to unspecified problems. That was the end of that.

The show doesn't really fit in the Animal Planet format of how to train dogs, special units that rescue abused animals, the competition to find the best dog groomer in the country, meerkit adventures or what life is like in a society of orangutans.

A big problem with the show was that so many people were far more interested in getting Sue and Jack together than they were in learning about the the Deaf culture and Sue's amazing accomplishments.

Deanne Bray is interested in bridging the gap between the deaf and the hearing. It will be too bad if most fans want the show to come back in hopes their romantic fantasies will be fulfilled (go to the fanfic sites for that).

Animal Planet is testing the waters for scripted, dramatic programming with "Sue Thomas: F.B.Eye" - the link is hearing dog Levi.
It is reruns of the shows for now - but if it does well, new episodes could happen!
You can see some clips here: http://www.youtube.com/user/suethomasfbeyetv - including the open, a promo, some scenes from the show, etc. And "Levi Runs To Sue" has annotations for captioning - and "The Signing Clip" is done all in American Sign Language with subtitles for the hearing.
Everyone please watch the show - and then let Animal Planet know how much you like it by emailing them at http://extweb.discovery.com/viewerrelations or calling them at 240-662-2000.

I'm with Dogwalker5500!! I thought that they were just rerunning the first episode then doing all new episodes....so I watched all three seasons just this week on YouTube. People think that this show doesn't fit Animal Planet, but they are wrong. Levi was a huge part of that show and he taught me how having a helping dog can enrich your life. I have thought of getting one myself (I'm in a wheelchair), but felt like others could benefit from them more. I hope Animal Planet does more new episodes.

I know their usual programming is about abuse to animals, competitions, and so forth, but those get boring after awhile and you stop watching them. This is a great show that keeps your attention. I am one of those fans who would love to see Jack and Sue get together, but that's not why I watch the show or why I'm happy it's now on Animal Planet. Give it a chance, I think you will enjoy it!!

I think reruns are still airing in Canada.

I think Animal Planet's schedulers had the best of intentions when they added Sue Thomas; however, it wasn't a good fit for their format. Why not do a series about service dogs? What exactly is a service dog? What breeds make the best ones? What are the laws regarding service dogs? Can landlords refuse to allow someone to have a service dog if the building doesn't allow animals?

They do still air in Canada, every weekday on CTV

You give me joy that's unspeakable, Jesus I am so in love with You

Today while watching Doc on the Gospel Music Channel, I saw an advertisement saying that they will show Sue Thomas F.B. Eye starting starting Monday Sep. 14 at 5:00 eastern time.

They show reruns on BYU tv - if you have DirecTV then you should get that channel, it's around 374 Ithink....

The only thing about it is that it shows in a weird way for widescreen TVS - its just the show in a box in the middle with black at the edges of the screen. Also the commericals are always REALLY short so that the show is over 10 minutes before the time slot is up.

reply

It is running on BYU-TV, and if you have a Roku streaming device, you can add the BYU Channel for free.

I haven't finished watching the episode airing as I type this, but looked up the show and I'm confident I will like it. Unfortunately, this episode is towards the end of the 3rd and final season. Only 2 more episodes aired after this one, so I'm hoping they will restart soon with the pilot episode and continue from there.

I have a Roku but haven't seen this show as an option.

But, my cable system offers BYUtv so I can watch the show every night. I just love it.
