Lingo does not need a co-host.

Lingo does not need a co-host. I think Chuck was fine alone. He was fine calling out the letters himself. He does not need help from a co-host.

"If I wanted to watch Barbie-bimbos, I'd tune into the Apprentice on NBC."

Well, look what we have here. Is hypocrisy a dish best served cold? The apparent basis for your "argument" ('Lingo doesn't need a co-host') is that the show has chosen a co-host who is a young blonde female who admittedly does not provide a lot of substance to the show and who is probably there in a rather pathetic attempt to draw in more male viewers.

And yet here you are taking part in the EXACT same behavior you're seeming to condemn. YOUR implied argument is: 'If the co-host of the show was picked to be an amusing and intelligent addition who actually served a meaningful purpose -- as opposed to just being there to be eye candy and laugh at Chuck's jokes, which seems to be Stacey's role -- then I wouldn't object.' So of course you had to go and resort to reducing Stacey to nothing more than a negative stereotype ('Barbie') and using ANOTHER derogatory term ('bimbo'). You never take into account the fact that this superficial personality is the one that the show GAVE her and TOLD her to use and that she could, in reality, be a perfectly intelligent and clever person.

In other words, you are condemning the show's reasons for casting ('they made her eye candy, dumb and shallow, nothing more') -- and then you go and do the SAME THING that you just accused the show of by making derogatory, shallow remarks yourself! Go look up how to construct an argument based on logic, NOT personal attacks.

Well, I personally think that Chuck does NOT need a co-host and additionally the producers/creators/whoever of Lingo should have a stern talking-to for perpetuating the stereotype that a co-host HAS to be cast as someone who has nothing but "eye candy" value to add the show. In other words, IF there has to be a co-host at all find a niche other than the "eye candy" niche and cast THAT.

Better?

Well, all I have to say is that if she's not trying to project the image of a bimbo, she needs to change her image on her OWN website:

Check out the photos and for whom she poses. Not exactly MENSA material if you ask me.

WHO CARES, JUST SHUT UP WATCH THE SHOW AND ENJOY IT FOR WHAT IT IS....A GAME SHOW.

what does a co-host even do?? all she says is your new board is this and this... oh and of course she suits the needs of chucks raging hormones on AND off the show... is it me or is chuck woolery blatantly hitting on each new co-host every game, and is most likely sleeping with them as some sort of medieval payola for her services as an obsolete so-called co-host?

Well I like Shandi. I think she does a great job.

They never repeat the Stacy episodes. I wish they would cause I want to see that one episode with the spelling bee kids. Seeing that one girl/boy combo awkwardly celebrate with missed or badly timed high fives was pretty funny.

i agree no other host was needed...chuck was doing fine...

but blondes sure are hot aren't they?

"He was fine calling out the letters himself."

That he was. But the producers decided that the show needed some eye candy, hence the addition of his buxom companion, who adds absolutely nothing else to the show.

Maybe I'm just prejudiced because Shandi is from St Louis County (Florissant), as am I. But I believe that Shandi adds more to the show than eye-candy. Of course, that is her major role, & she is MUCH cuter than Stacey was. But on the weekends, they replay the old shows with only Chuck, & I think it is much more boring. I think Shandi is witty & adds clever dialogue with Chuck. Also, the show runs more smoothly with her at the controls. I think it's a little too much for Chuck to handle everything. As it is, he's always commenting about the puzzles (& he's often wrong) & during the bonus round (he's forever telling the contestants that they still have a "bonus letter" left, when they no longer do!

I do wish, however, that they would continue with new shows. I watch this with my 92 year-old mother (one of her favorites) & I am starting to recognize some of the contestants & reruns, because they've been on so many times!!

She's just there for eye candy and humor.

Me too. I also liked the original set. Here is something else they could do. You get bonus letters in the bonus round:
X amounts for each Lingo made
1 just for winning the game

How about bonus letters for anybody who guessed a word correctly on the first try? It would be one for each one.
