First episode of the Engvall version: meh!

Hopefully he will improve with time.

Yeah, that first episode was pretty bad. However, it might not have been Engvall's fault. The new format sucks! People don't need a clue to help them solve the puzzle, thats just riduculous. It takes away from trying to solve the puzzle as is, now I'm thinking more about the clue than I am the puzzle... this is not good for viewers and contestants.

Yeah, the "clues" seem like they only exist for their suggestive possibilities.

I was a Lingo fan from day one! I've always been a fan of word shows and just happened to stumble upon it...boy was I hooked! I didn't like Stacey at all, she came off very snobby (perhaps her British upbringing?) as if she were talking down to everyone including Chuck. Shandi was much more pleasant and tolerable. But the show didn't even need a co-host. I think the female "eye candy" was to attract male viewership, but this addition certainly didn't help Chuck to stay focused. All in all, I figured I'd give Bill Engvall a chance...how could he ruin a show I already like? Very easily, I see! His handling of the show makes it very campy and backwoods. The wall of balls is OK, but why give a clue about the mystery word? Not saying anything is what makes it such a mystery! I think I'll just wait for reruns with Chuck (minus Stacey).

Night 2: Well, the problem with tonight's episode was one of the male contestants, who took two Lingo balls out simultaneously (rather than one after the other), shouted out an answer during the females' turn, and yelled at his teammate for giving words with letters they already knew weren't in the correct word (although I can relate with this last one, as I do the same while watching).

Not a fan of the new format. Never cared for Bill Engvall one way or the other, but it's not him that even bothers me about the new show.

The "high tech" set is way too over the top, and the wall of lingo balls that the contestants have to pick up like bowling balls just seems to be a really weird design concept.

I especially don't like the clues. It was more fun to just guess the word instead of trying to match it up with a clue, and it seems to confuse the contestants. In the past, guessing random words would help the contestants figure out new letter. Now they just look like idiots when the word they guess has nothing to do with the clue.

check out veronica mars - seriously, it's an amazing show!

OMG! The 2nd episode was even worse than the 1st one. Bring back Chuck and Shandi and the old format NOW!!!!! Congrats GSN, you guys have managed to take a good show and turn it into a piece of garbage. Nice work... Lingo is now dead.

Night 3: Now this one was better. I guess it depends on the contestants, as the winners were on fire in Bonus Lingo tonight.

I finally got to see the new version of Lingo, and I really hate the clues as well. It makes the puzzles way too easy, and I also hate how the host acts like every word the contestants give must make sense with the clue. I was like 'shut the *beep* up! They're just trying to find more letters to match!"
