To Anyone Who Thinks 'Def Poetry' is 'Lame'...

...Realize it's not for you. That's the beautiful thing about television, there's something on there for just about everyone. If you love standard comedy, there are sitcoms, if you like offbeat comedy, there are entire channels and shows dedicated to goofy comedies; there are dramas, and crime shows. There are sports programming and basically shows for everyone.

However, this is really one of the first shows geared towards poets, particularly slam poets. It's an easy show to make (I'd imagine it's really inexpensive to get a group of poets air-time) and sure, it has a niche market that isn't for everyone, but if it's not for you, *beep* you own cable (you must, or you wouldn't be able to watch it), I'm sure there's some softcore porn for you to watch on Cinemax.

I completely agree. I just checked out the board it has here and was shocked. Why on earth would people continue to post on a board for a show they don't like?
It's a refreshing, new age type of show. It's great.

I totally understand what you guys are saying and for someone such as myself who used to write and perform poetry at times I get very fustrated with it, cause it all starts to sound the same, and cliche. Its very good poetry all of it is, just at times it just seems so to just around and around. I am sure there are more people who feel that way. But in all it is a good show.

So true. Thank you. If you can't appreciate the art in it, then simply move on.
