The stupid thing about this movie

was that it was filmed in New Zealand. I really don't see any reason that it needed to be in New Zealand. You could tell that certain actors and actresses were picked up in New Zealand and also it kept Lalaine from being in the last episodes of Lizzie McGuire and out of the movie. The movie probably would have been a lot better if she was in it. Other than that it was a pretty decent movie, especially for a Disney Channel movie.

omg i thought the exact same thing lol lord of thing rings was filmed in new zealand of course becase they needed land that was really beautiful and to have that landscape but wth did you wish need to be filmed there? they coulda filmed it in canada where its cheaper

OI! there is nothing wrong wif NZ! And the reason that Lord Of The Rings was filmed in NZ was coz Peter Jackson (NZ'r) makes all of his films in NZ its like a trademark 4 him, i hope u guys aren't dissing New Zealand coz that wood be just plain....mean. lol l8rz

I agree with you! New Zealand is great! And yes, Canada is also used because of cost of filming. Lalaine had left Lizzie McGuire BEFORE this film was made, if I remember correctly. I know it's gossip, but I hear Lalaine was having issues with Hilary Duff & her mother. Oh well, New Zealand is.... well, i posted somewhere else abotu New Zealand.

Response to that they jsut picked up actors there and you could tell. No kidding, you think they'd just do stuff like bring extras over and everything fromt eh US? No. And Disney is INTERNATIONALLY broadcast, as well as a couple other channels on cable. By being in a Disney (or one of the other companies0 movie, you get international exposure as a Kiwi actor or actress. Some Kiwi actors never get chances outside of New Zealand shows!

Anyway.... later!

Lalain didn't miss the last of Lizzie McGuire because of this movie. They're both by Disney, Disney certainly would have scheduled the filming so the two wouldn't conflict. Lizzie McGuire was their most popular tv show, they wouldn't have one of the main stars miss the last episodes for a movie. Lalain left because of personal reasons, which she hasn't said specifically what they were.

Though it probably doesnt matter anymore. But I work in the "mall" that was a major setting in the film. As a New Zealander, and especially an Aucklander (the city where this film was made) it's very interesting to watch and see it passed off as some random american city.

The "Mall" in which they refer to is a villege cinema complex. The closest thing that even resembles a mall store is a shop called Tommy Gun. Infact the coin store is a refreshements stand for the cinema. The rest is a big food court, an arcade, and back entrance to Borders Books. They constantly showed NZ's biggest landmark (the Sky Tower) in the background of most shots.

Interesting that you folks mention LOTR aswell. Peter Jackson's new film "King Kong" had a scene filmed in this same building (in the old Theatre) and according to the crew (namely one of PJ's assistants) is meant to be a turning point in the film. Great experience. I even got to serve Collin Hanks and some other actors aswell. Cant wait till this movie comes out next year to see what that scene was all about. 450 Extras and over 300 crew spent a week out side (and inside) my shop.

Actually, the stupid thing about this movie was the entire concept. The movie woud have beed just plain stupid no mater where it was filmed. It was entertining and I did get emotionally connected with the caracters and hoped that everything would work out for the best for the characters but it was poorly written. The fact that it was filmed in NZ makes it a bit more interesting. The fact that it was filmed in NZ makes me think more highly of it.

theres nothing rong wif it being shot in nz, being and nzer my self. they jst wanted to film in a place wich wasnt all city like and stuff. it may have city shot in it (skytower) but most of it was filmed in places remuera. except for queen street and the imax complex.
