to be honest, when i saw it on tele we saw that nothing happened, just the crowd's awe shocked faces. and everything went silent, and we heard JR's voice muffled and saying this is real

reply

I was there at Kemper Arena. We didnt know what was happening. To make things worse, it mad us look bad that after JR said he had died we were still cheering and going nuts, but they never told us in the arena that he was dead.

reply

You think that they used Owen to get a cheap TV rating...look what they did/are still doing with Eddie Guererro.

reply

i was watching the event live on tv here in england, and when the tragedy happened, i dismissed it as a cheap stunt for a storyline, and went to bed around half way though the show, thinking just that.
upon waking the next morn and watching the rest of the show i had taped, i was just numb and in shock in what unfolded before my eyes. when jr was trying to explain that this "was not a angle, this is not a storyline, this is a real life situation here" i knew it was real.
i, like ALL wrestling fans, tuned in to the wwf raw is war show the next night, (fri in england) and seen possibly the most real, and emotional piece of television i have ever seen in all my life. the show had been renamed raw is owen, and was dedicated to owens memory and showed many stars breaking from "character" to talk and shed alot of tears over their freind owen hart.
i have both shows on tape, and still get a lump in my throat whenever i watch them. (mark henrys poem for owen is spine tingling heartfelt)
owen was a hell of a wrestler, a great family man and a insparation to many.
apparently he was a joy to be around, and all of the wrestlers said it was a honour and a privalige to be with him, and thank god for having the chance to have knew him.
god bless you owen, thanks for the memorys and rest in piece rocket, we will NEVER forget you. wooooo!

To say it was disrespectful to keep the show going on... how was it disrespectful??? Someone please explain it to me.

Soneone stated on the main page:

"And this crap with saying Owen would have wanted the pay pew view to keep going. Give me a break. When someone dies on a pay pew view its comon sense to stop it. Thats like a police officer shooting a robber or a mugger with a run and then just leaving the man to die so he can go home and call it a day as if the mans life never mattered."

That's such a poor comparison to Owen's death... and did you not know that the following RAW was dedicated to Owen Hart's memory?? It was a tribute show to him. and what about the tribute magazine that was released with all profits going to a Canadian children's charity??? You talk like WWE didn't give a damn about Owen...

It's people like you that should be dead, not Owen Hart.

i neva saw the hole raw is owen after that night (only highlights) and i was wonderin was the undertaker or kane aloud to break character or wat. coz they r neva shown giving an interveiw. Just wonderin?

reply

no, they couldn't break character, cuz their not ment to be emocionally sad on camera

"Da Champ is Herrrre!!!"

reply

Plus I think with 'Taker its a bit in bad taste having a guy whose character embraces death on a tribute show like that.

reply

owen was a pro he would of wanted the show to go on

reply

The Undertaker wasn't at the Raw show the next day. He had gone to visit and console Bret Hart since the two were friends. I'm not sure about Kane though.

The most unnerving part of the show was immediately after the fall. First, they show Jim Ross and you can see a fan behind him indicating that he thinks Owen is dead. From there they cut to Jeff Jarrett and Debra McMichael for an interview. Debra is so shaken that she can't stop crying and Jarrett has to cut in.

reply

actually Debra remains calm and sticks to the script, we as jeff jarrett tells Debra to shutup, then Jeff takes off his glasses, looks into the camera and goes "owen, im praying for you buddy", then Debra says "and so am i", then she almost starts to cry (as does Jeff before he puts his glasses back on).
